DOUBLE & Namie. A great duo.

I’ve been tuning into some of the older genres of Japanese music I’ve listened to the past couple of days and R&B/Hip-Hop is a prominent one. Having said that, I know of DOUBLE’s music and I loved her SUMMERTIME single with VERBAL. After, I never paid attention to whatever DOUBLE had released. That is, until I heard of a certain collaboration with the Queen of Hip-Pop herself, Miss Namie Amuro.

BLACK DIAMOND. At first, I thought this was a typo and that they either mixed up the colors of diamonds. Turns out, it’s the real title. But who cares? It certainly screams SEXY. Something these two women believe is in a man is called BLACK DIAMOND. That should be sexy in any woman’s eyes. But whatever that case is, the song is SEXY and full of sass.

The song starts off with a rockin’ bass guitar and then the girls enter their voices in quietly. There we have bass beats going off and then the girls are off singing. I never appreciated quiet verses, but their quiet sultry voices have me falling in love as it starts to get even louder as it reaches the chorus. I love the background voices and effects behind all the singing as it adds a more hip-hop feel and sexes up the song. I must admit, for 30-year-old women, they still have the sexy sultry voices in them. Namie’s vocals in here are hot! The song also has several techno elements in the background, adding a danceable effect to the song. I especially adore the instrumental in the middle of the song & the repetitive “BLACK DIAMOND” really gets stuck in your head, but in a good way. The song is amazing. Although it ends off on the same note as the chorus ends off, it is still a good song and I love how it ends off so quietly. I immediately put this song on my iPod shuffle for some repetitive listening.

The BLACK DIAMOND.

Namie entering the casino.

DOUBLE singing in the vents.

They look like the Japanese Shakira & Beyonce!

It's GONE!

The PV is also hot. Complete flavor-liciously hot. It starts by giving us a look at the casino, and the literal BLACK DIAMOND. We switch scenes with the two girls in a gray fan-room & the casino, where we start off with Namie, who gazingly looks at the camera and she looks scary, but she still looks hot. Namie walks through the casino, singing and possibly there to look for the diamond, where we also see glimpses of DOUBLE standing around. Hmm, plotting something? As it so turns out, Namie takes off her jacket, and starts dancing in a random room! I don’t mind though, because the dance is hot and Namie looks amazing in that dress. We then move on to DOUBLE, who has her homedawg crew behind her and they do the same thing as Namie did, only this time, I think DOUBLE can’t dance very well. But she is hot in that dress. I think one thing though, is that she needs to lay off the makeup! We alternate through many scenes of the girls sitting back to back from each other into a dark room where the girls are surrounded by diamonds. They do their little dance, which I find cute and they look freaking sexy. We alternate more scenes and then the whole casino starts dancing! In the end, the two guys guarding the BLACK DIAMOND end up leaving (which I find stupid, you’re supposed to stay there!) and by letting their guard down, the BLACK DIAMOND disappears. Namie walks by DOUBLE and they share their little curious stares, where DOUBLE starts smiling. Hinting she took it? You never know! But this PV is hot all the way!

DOUBLE does it again, and this time with the Queen Namie Amuro. Both girls look amazing in the PV and they sound awesome and I find their voices blend very well. Some elements in the PV didn’t amaze me too much, like DOUBLE’s dancing, but it was still a pleasant and sexy watch. If you want to know DOUBLE well enough, try this song. And for Namie fans, this song is for you all the way! IT’S HOT!

They’re the winners of the BLACK DIAMOND!
